Using the bow thruster
The bow thruster is operated from a small remote control. To operate it:
- After starting the engine turn on the main switch for the bow thruster (in the front cabin)
- Ensure you have both remote controls available (one for backup if the battery fails in the first one).
- Only use the bow thruster when necessary (many manoeuvres can be done without using it). If using it do short bursts to see what is required. It may overheat if used too much at the same occasion (it will simply shut down). The remote control is in sleep-mode. Activate it just before you think you may need it by holding down the on/off button until the blue LED-light turns on (takes 2-3 seconds). Use the right and left buttons closest to the on/off-button.
- When you have tied up the boat and stopped the engine turn off the main switch for the bow thruster (this will also tun off the power to the remote control receiver).
Please note that batteries in both remote controls should be replaced with new ones every spring.
