Short description

ASAP is a three cabin Crusader model built by Crown Cruiser Ltd. It was previously a rental boat with Le Boat in France for 25 years. However, when purchased from Le Boat in 2021 the name was changed to ASAP (which obviously is the short form for “as slowly as possible”).

ASAP was build in 1996. Its length is 11.90m (39 feet), width 3.90m, draft 0.85m, airdraft 3.10m, weight 7-8 tons. Engine is a Nanni 4-cyl diesel with 50Hp. It has a long but shallow kiel and a shaft drive. Propeller and rudder is protected. Diesel tank 300L. Water tank 600L. Black water tank 250L. Double sea water filter (one on the right side and one on the left side). Closed circuit cooling of the engine. Heater with separate thermostat in each cabin. There is cold and hot pressurized tap water.

Major replacements and upgrades

  • In 2012:
    a) Manual toilets were changed to electrical.
  • In 2021:
    a) Engine was in 2021 at >13 000 hours (and still working fine). However, it was decided to swap the engine for a brand new one in May 2021. The new engine was from the same manufacturer and of exactly the same size and capacity. The alternator, heat exchanger and water pump was changed as well.
    b) A large bimini was added to the flybridge/sundeck in May 2021.
    c) Rubber dinghy (Aerotend 240) with inflatable floor was added.
    d) Toilets were connected to pump directly out to the sea. This was changed so they pump to the black-water tank.
  • In 2022:
    a) installation of a bow thruster (Vetus BOW5512D)
    b) installation of two large solar panels (2×445 watt) with Victron solar charger.
    c) Victron 1200 watt inverter to supply 220V was added.
    d) Changing the propeller from a 3-blade to a new 5-blade.
    e) Changing propeller shaft and cutless bearing.
    f) New batteries (three for consumption and one starter)
    g) New fenders and fender holders
    h) New throttle on flybridge
    i) New stern anchor in stainless steel
  • In 2023:
    a) Changing hoses between toilets and black-water tank to new ones.
    b) Installing a stainless steel swim ladder (Båtsystem BUT125)
    c) Sealing a leackage in the front cabin
    d) Installing Gobius Pro – three sensors for each tank
    e) Heating system renovated. The heat exchanger in each cabin was cleaned and the electric fans were replaced by new ones.
    f) New fridge-freezer
